Mr. Rustom Jehangir with Bombay as its Head Office established Meridian Holidays in April 1976. Our very first incentive was from the company Elf. Never before had the Indian market seen 345 pax arriving at one time at a given place, less than one tour operator. This then, was Meridians beginning.

Within that very year a branch office was opened in Delhi. Then, in 1993, the handling of Charters directly to Goa once again necessitated opening an office on this southern shore.

Meridian Holidays is essentially a company dealing with incentive operations, and was in fact the first to bring Incentive movements on a large scale to Rajasthan. Over the years we have handled Astral, Berner Zeitung, Bi energie, Cannon, Diac, Elf, Freiberger Nachrichten, Good Year, Ivaco, La Seigneurie, Renault, Rentruck, Rev Mur Sol, Sigma Printek, Sommer, Telefunken , Bergerat , Dubois and several others.
Most of these companies have worked with us on subsequent incentive movements thus providing Meridian Holidays with a reputation of quality service and innovative ideas e.g. we handled groups of 200 to 350 tourists accommodating them in tents at locations without hotels; camels were used for transportation in appropriate areas. In fact, we can legitimately claim to be the first Indian operators to erect tented Camps at the now famous Pushkar Fair - this was done as far back as 1976 and 1977.

In addition, we have handled many International Medical Conferences (eg Indo-French symposium of Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery which was arranged entirely by us in collaboration with the Bombay Hospital & attended by over 100 delegates), and have handled good numbers of French delegates to other conferences e.g. The International Conference of Chest Surgeons & the International Conference on Internal Medicine. More recently we handled a huge delgation of over 650 pax in one go - taking them around Rajasthan by Road, Rail, Car, Camel and elephant ! "

Today, Meridian Holidays is run by Mrs. Aruna Jehangir and Nazneen Jehangir. Meridian Holidays now also caters to the growing needs of Group & FIT traffic. Special interest Groups are handled and itineraries are created tailor-made to suit the Group's requirements & budgets. This requires us to have a special relationship with the Five star Hotels, Heritage & First class properties, as well as with the Budget & Standard Hotels, not to mention preferential rates with transport agencies as well. In addition we have been handling swiss charters to Goa for over 15 years and thus we have developed good relations with the department of civil aviation and at the same time honed our people skills by dealing with hundreds on people on an almost weekly basis..

We have also recently acquired a small Hotel in South Goa by the name of Luisa by the Sea. Though a first in this nature of venture for us, it is proved to be immensely successful since its inception in 1997 and is regularly used by charter clientele. A part of this hotel is also converted it to a well run Ayurveda Center for long stay as well as day visitors.

We provide Guides who speak English, French, Italian or German or many other foreign languages and their services can be retained either to accompany your clients throughout the trip or merely for the different excursions undertaken at each destination.
